Books, Sewing, and Summer fun

That's what I've been doing this Spring Term. I've been reading a lot of books which I am commenting on in my new blog: anookforreaders.blogspot.com I love books! Today I finished my fleece jacket that I have been making in my intermediate sewing class. To make it unique I embroidered the sleeves with my own design (by hand). Everyone asks me if it is by hand, as opposed to being done by machine. Of course! If a machine did it it wouldn't be so fun for me.

I just finished the shots for the HCG diet. Yay! Now it's on to the maintenance phase. I lost about 15 lbs. and I feel great. However, it was the hardest thing ever for me to do, and I was not always perfect. Anyone who knows me knows that I love to cook and eat just as much as I love to read. So was limiting myself to 500 calories a day enjoyable? No. Of course, it was better once I actually had enough HCG solution in my shots. Thanks, Mom! And with the warm weather I am excited for those fun outdoor activities like . . . ultimate frisbee!!! We'll be playing it up this Saturday at the Rock Canyon Park most likely. So if any of you want to join, come along. Signing out for today.

Melissa's Book List

So, what this is: I am an avid reader and my cousins and friends often want to find good books. I decided it would be smart to follow my Grandpa Lewis' advice and make a list of the books I've read. When I have more time I'll add key marks to say how good they were.
Here's what I've read recently:
Emeralds and Espionage (for the 2nd time)
The Only Alien on the Planet (for the 4th time. A favorite)
Slumming
Long Night Dance
Hearts in Hiding (for the 2nd or 3rd time)

Currently reading:
Your Eyes in Stars
Deliver Us From Evie
Jesus the Christ

Keep an eye out for my next list update!!

I Keep Busy

If readers have to rely on my husband to write news about my life, that is pretty sad. I dropped two of my classes so now I am only taking 9 credits, which means I'm part-time. That took some bravery since I try to do as much as I can.

But NO WORRIES I'm keeping busy by assistant designing a show at BYU and I am now the head designer for a student's short film. I also work in all my free hours, conduct the ward choir, am on an activities committee and save free time for my husband. In short, my days are boo-ooked.

But, then again, I figure, if we only have this minute once, then I should fill every minute with as many memories as I can. That way when I'm old and too feeble to do anything, I'll have lots of memories to keep me company.

Back to School for Melissa

So it is that time of the year once again. back to school for Melissa while I get to sit around another week before school starts for me. Melissa is taking 14 credits this semester while I'm taking 12. I'm taking it a little easy this semester so that I can work more in anticipation for next year. Right now my classes are managerial accounting, nutrition and health, personal finance math, and statistics. Most of Melissa's classes are design classes. Well, good luck to everyone with school this semester.

Starting a Blog

I have decided to start a blog for Melissa and me to keep everyone updated on the monotony that is our life. I hope that everyone enjoys this and hopefully it will help us stay connected better with family and friends.
